Acalanes High School Recognized for Music Contributions to the Community
The Acalanes High School Music Department was recognized by the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) as one of the “Best Communities for Music Education” in the Nation. The ceremony took place on June 10, 2010 at Lamorinda Music.  Instrumental Music Teacher, Norm Dea and Choral Music Teacher, Bruce Lengacher were present along with many students, parents, and friends, to receive the certificate of recognition from Colleen McCormick, owner of Lamorinda Music.
This national recognition would not be possible without the supportive and generous community in which we live, a community that embraces the performing arts as an integral component in our school's comprehensive curriculum, and the wonderful elementary & middle school music program that feeds the high school. In essence, this award recognizes the ENTIRE Lafayette community!
